Studies have proven that when money is tied to a specific behavior, that behavior is more likely to occur. However, according to a study by Tim Judge in his Journal of Vocation Behavior, “Employees earning salaries in the top half of our data range reported similar levels of job satisfaction to those employees earning salaries in the bottom-half of our data range” (p.162).

Judge is stating quite clearly that based on his studies, which included 120 years of research and over 15,000 individual responses, money motivates people, but not as much as you would think, and it is certainly not the only or main motivator for employees in today’s workplaces.

So, you may ask yourself, “How can I easily and quickly make changes or implement activities that can increase my employee’s morale and engagement levels today, without breaking the bank?” Chris Hamilton from Demand Media posted a great article called The Top Ten Ideas for Employee Engagement.

This article gives 10 short, easy-to-read ways to increase engagement levels at your workplace today. Check out some of his ideas by clicking the article link below. Our favorite is #2.
